[Kraze One] Milton Keynes City A commercial paradise Amongst the bright lights I write and incite Right forget hype because talk is cheap You'll probably hear my demo playing down the back street Of a council estate, thats fate, we innovate Up late trying to concentrate and get my lyrics straight Who's gonna take the weight when times are tough Alcohol is finished, you've smoked all the puff I'm a roughneck making use of what I have Many times I've sat broke with a pen and a pad Looking for inspiration from problems I'm facing Trying to make the best of a situation (Battle stations) streets are filled with rage I see it in peoples eyes as I pass day to day Cloudy skies are grey, to many bills to pay maybe they see me pass them in the same way What can I say standing firm to strike a balance With a positive outlook seeing life as a challenge Stop the negativity universal law makes me The true master of my own destiny.

Summa Vibez 04:18
[Sautee] Summer time we're loving the day Summer vibes round the way Summer time we're loving the day Summer vibes round the way Summer time we're loving the day Summer vibes round the way Summer time we're loving the day loving the day, loving the day. [Kraze One] This a'int a rap cliche but today I gotta say How I love the sun rays on the bright sunny days As a young Kraze - I was always in to something Hanging round the back streets finding out what was happening Always gate crashing parties at universities Sneaking in the back with a ruck sack full of tinny's Never paid a penny - laughing at the security Once walked in through the front way pretending to be a DJ Back in the day when Hip Hop wernt as popular Before I had a cellular we used to get together In the hot weather with a getto and some spray paint Boys in the hood tagging up the estate I still appreciate the whole summer vibe And all the good times that broke the confines Of my teenage years with peers and girl friends Sitting and reminiscing about way back when things were easy. [Sautee] Back in the day, when we were young, When we were young I wish it was so simple, I wish it was so simple Back in the day, when we were young I wish it was so simple, simple, simple. [Fathomless One] Memories of yesterday help me find a better way get a get away from my problems and celebrate P A R T Y because I gotta And if time is money well then I got a lot of Friends to call so we can hit the courts Cos true say I look bad in my knee length shorts Go back to my yard and then collect my thoughts Imagine I'm performing and I can hear the applause reminisce on free styling at Rap and R&B nights Running from police cos you been in street fights Rock every party jus to create some street hype And chasing the girls god I love this street life I live for those West Indian barbeques So me can get me rice chicken plantain and stew Summer time no funner time to lay back and unwind If you're feeling this track then turn it up and press rewind. [Sautee] Back in the day, when we were young, When we were young I wish it was so simple, I wish it was so simple Back in the day, when we were young I wish it was so simple, simple, simple. [Kraze One] I like to drop a summer lyric keep my spirits high and dry Stepping out my residence sunlight dazzling my eye See the girls pass bye looking fly and kinda pretty Grab an old school tape and take a trip in to the City To get my errands all run early On a Saturday and Sunday spending up a bit of money That i earn daily so it's nice to break free From the usual routine and go and let off some steam Long summer weekends always precious When you live in a country where the weather's as mysterious As buried treasures like a blessing from the heavons The hot summer days make life so worth living (Just chilling) People are lighting their barbeques On every estate there's the aroma of foods And the sound of tunes, Cars cruise avenues People drinking booze and celebrating the good news. [Sautee] Back in the day, when we were young, When we were young I wish it was so simple, I wish it was so simple Back in the day, when we were young I wish it was so simple, simple, simple Summer time we're loving the day Summer vibes round the way Those summer days And I still try to find Those summer vibes Those summer days always on my mind.

UK Politrix 03:30
[Kraze One] If you could do a documentary on the UK today What would you say - Things are getting better everyday? Would you try and find a way to display the country Or would you kneel down and pray hoping for a better day Would you stand and say "It don't really affect me I work 5 days a week and don't think about the money" Taken automatically by the system that we live in Car tax, insurance even paying for parking And congestion charging - does it get you thinking Most of our money goes on basic living not to mention Inflation steady rising every year in the budget Wages don't rise to match it - who's making all the profit? Check the housing market - you got shared properties Full mortgages taken to pay half the fees With the stamp duty, paying for university Central heating bills to avoid the big freeze License for TVs you don't get time to see Cos your working overtime trying to find the extra money The grim reality, a conspiracy theory No sense from MPs always surrounded by sleeze Trying to blame their mistakes on the next parties Political systems taking money from communities For wars overseas are you aware do you care to look? Because the truth's out there somewhere. [Kraze One] The misbehavior of Labor and twisted stories of the Tories Makes you wonder where's the real MPS Representing majorities, please they severed ties False policies, all delivered as lies Open your eyes up, and wise up How can we as citizens vote for a corrupt Organisation to represent the nation when its causing deverstation Leaving the future of our children In jeopardy, all that matters is the money Every penny being steadily squeezed out of the country (Trust me) people are losing confidence In political systems that don't make a difference With a range of campains Going on about change but everything stays the same Its so lame, I remember one incident When rap music was blamed for increasing violence Its just another scape goat An idea someone wrote to try and get another vote Truth is all that matters is election of the party By any means necessary "To hell with the country that's secondary" But now judgement day is coming I see some of them running while other are left wondering Is this a beginning of a new way of thinking? Or the start of revolution.

[Kraze One] (Who are you?) My name is Kraze O-N-E I sit up on to of the rhythm chatting pure street poetry I used to write graffiti back in 1990 now i pick up the mic and drop a lyric make you say blimey Charley go and get the CD play it all around the City from Wolverton to Bletchley Newport to Stony interwoven like a tapestry (Who) its the True Element MCs. [Paranoia MC] Let me introduce myself as that man called Para I didnt think you'd know me well I'm telling you you have to Never ever forget that Para's here to stay on this element track I'm biging them up and putting them down hey I sit up on top of the rhythm with these 8 bars that I'm giving I'm giving and giving and flipping my boys in here are feeling What I am saying no playing fell me Paranoia what Paranoia that's me. [Killa Joul] K to the I double L A Joul established 1993 down in Buckingham school legitimate lyricist a lyrical physicist physical prantaganist I'm swinging and I never miss True Element coming back like karky chinos old school like Dennis the menace and the Beano times up I got to pass the mic quickly this is how you rock a mic professionally and slickly. [DJ Kraze One] Yo because it's bigger na badda na bo bo I pick up the pick up the mic and drop a style a style an yo yo as lyrics them a flow the rude boys them a run the show we sit up on top of the top of the styles and let the massive them a know right now that we're picking them up and them ripping them down the lyrics a rip from town to town the massive yo is well renound for bringing man a sound wave that's rough like a tidel (who) it's the true element crew passing through. [Paranoia MC] Rock n roller True Element's over and about to fly high like a super nova we're here I told you to look over your shoulder big up element pain from this mic holder this rhythm get colder while britcore holds you didn't think I'd tell you well now I've told you Para's powers not solar I'm a bear not polar mad love for my clover I'm a rock and roller soldier. [Kraze One] The revolution will not be televised on MTV BBC, ITV or Sky 1, 2, or 3 With flash photography, Armani or Gucci Wearing fake celebrity's or pop personalities We are the, underground you seldom see Average man on the street trying to make ends meet type of MC Not in the club or in the pub Making music for the love this is how we rise above All the cliches, with rhyme displays IQ's are raised From a time when making music was about making a change Not just spare change, i rearrange the sound patterns when I'm rapping Thought provoking time for actioning a fraction A revolution of the mind I find Between the lines is where I like to write my rhymes Times are getting hectic, I always try and stay prolific Kinetic flowing like electtric With the scientific, theory's you see me Its the K the R the A to the Z O-N-E Sit up on to of the style for rugged tracks and rugged LPs True to life we raise the stakes with the clarity Rappers today they like to roll play Portray a certain image for time on mainstream airway But have nothing to say, enough is enough That's why I come back with a track dropping lyrics that's. [Kraze One] The situation is so many hip hop pioneers Don't get any creditation for the work put in for years Record companies control to much of music industry Mass selling an MC when they have no authority Like Puff Daddy ripping off old school classics Marketing them to the masses, sell out rappers see the cash as Pioneers are denied access and so many are left brassic See the truth is, nothing matters in this business Except the pay roll, cross over rappers sell the soul Record sales the only goal play is definitely foul Shouting "Keep it real" but keep it mass appeal With crossover feel is what's needed to fit the bill Hip Hop is mass marketed as pop In the mainstream it's an image that is not What it represented, diluted, almost muted And the truth is people are under educated As I stated taking it back to fundamentals is essential So the culture can grow Badder beats and better flows, focus on the live shows Big up to the prows you know how it goes So we stay back, in the shadows doing battle With the trials of life nuff strife but you know it's the principle Even when times are tough Never selling out to pop because the rhythm is.

Fresh Style 03:49
[Kraze One] I keep my mind in the frame subject to how I maintain Falling captive in to every trend that enters the game We’re not the same, I range past a mere craze When I’m writing inspiration comes from artists like Blade Back in the days plays a part to an extent Because I was there I feel no need to invent Some kind of image or turn to a role play Like some mans today I suggest you use your mind think a bit and redefine Running blind and cannot focus this resulting in decline So resign from the character and try do for self To become a true b-boy is just to become yourself Let the rhythm run aint no point in holding back Interact with the track rappers come of sounding wack On the over produced crap and then there forgotten Cos from the core its sounding rotten To many MCs here today but gone the next Chasing money talking sex going on about their reps That they had 10 years ago but now are out of touch Raving loonies like lord such Condition critical back in the day they had potential But now it’s unoriginal typically hypocritical So who’s keeping it real? With the hip hop elements This is how I represent.
8.
[Kraze One] Open my eyes I rise to societies cries Surprised I've become institutionalized At the weekend I met up with a friend Sitting and reminiscing about way back when Things were easy, I liked being a youngster Right now I trapped in societies structure Of credit cards, student loans, and overdrafts So hear my paragraph And my sentence will sentence a govenment That misrepresents career development An establishment quite intent to present A student with the money for rent And a credit card for when times are hard Don,t sweat APR cos your gonna be a star When your qualified so get the deceleration signed On the dotted line, sit back and unwind Put it out of your mind paybacks no big hurry Inflation keeps rising gotta borrow more money More worry and now you get back to reality Start working for an agency that's paying you a salary Less than satisfactory trying to build skills Investment for future being shattered by bills Tax, living costs, general maintenance and such I guess were all. [Killa Joul] If you think about the greatest cons of all time A sly of hand that done mess with your mind And the thing you tookt as being right Just smoke and mirrors, a trick of the light What's going on in the world around us Political systems that you just can,t trust We must expose decepters Eject and expel all these court jesters Do what's right with what's been blessed us Applaud and support human rights protectors Money talks the truth is walking I know you're lying cos your mouth is talking Downing street number six six six They love a little fiddle with their own expenses False pretenses, a lenient sentence Those with fingers in the tills no mention More interested in celebrity Instead of doing things their supposed to be somethings happening on the streets tonight Maybe in the shadows, maybe out of sight Maybe a terrorist of a government official Telling the difference these days is kind of difficult Friend or foe its hard to say Lets hope the truth will out anyway.
9.
[Kraze One] I heard words everywhere most were non compatible Hold down the UK but not from the capital (Uncontrollable) lyrically full to capacity Simplicity is easy I mastermind a strategy of weaponry Vocal debris from my poetry Got buildings shaking like sysematic activity When I emcee the probability of taking me In lyrical combat is one to infinite Lyrically to many MCs Be picking up a penalty for no originality They wanna battle me with their lyrical dexterity A wanna be Puff Daddy or Nelly or MOP Creativity - look it up in the dictionary Back track a little and find carbon copy This is you and me I break free from the majority My session in poetry is structured mathamatically I carry letters like a pigeon When I'm spitting on the rhythm tight like a python When it's constricting - injecting pure venom But listen I never bitten as the law unwritten Says forbidden - play you out of position With no defense mechanism as the truth I'm kicking Hard hitting - I done broke the transmission Leave you in second division panic stricken like a victim. [Kraze One] Fires burn in my heart cos i still have a passion For hip hop as an art form don't see it as a fashion So I'm gate crashing mic's and showing up MCs Claiming to represent but lack the capability To flow properly wannabees spread like fleas Politician MCs all fake like IDs A disease but I come with immunity (Check it - Sucker MCs) For those that don't know of me my name is Kraze O-N-E I sit up on to of the rhythm chatting pure street poetry I used to write graffiti back in 1990 Now i pick up the mic and drop a lyric make you say blimey Charley Go and get the CD Play it all around the City from Wolverton to Bletchley Newport to Stony interwoven like a tapestry (Kraze - One) is a True Element MC Still dropping scientific theory With my hip hop ideology I rap reality When a rapper wants to battle me I leave them in a frienzy Cos there trying to play a character, all I play is me Nothing more, hip hop is what I live for Definition of an actor is character not pure Or of stature, I don't pretend because of trend Represent the truth in hip hop from the start until the end.
10.
[Kraze One] When I go out in the City some people act funny Talkin' bout - yeh I a'int seen you boys round here lately "You still down with that DJ? - Gonna get on the MIC?" "Ere how comes you lot aint playing up here tonight?" Impolite and talking shite trying to act a big man When did you ever stand with the MIC in your hand? At a jam with a live band trying to build skills Well I'm out with my girl tonight I just want to chill Have a drink, enjoy the show then go with no bother Yo I got a 9 to 5 so gotta be at work tomorrow Life is tough enough I don't need static from a stranger Is it jealousy or anger why you acting like a wanker So what ever you want to insinuate Cant it wait cos I aint got time to conversate come back next time the True Element's performing And you'll see me rock the MIC from sunset to morning There you stand yawning cos it's way past your bed And the lyrical concepts fly over your head I got nuff ammunition for anyone caught dissing Without reason contradicting themselves like a politician Once bitten my lyrics take effect like venom Paralysing any human not thinking what there saying Last record stops playing and we finish the set A safe bet that disrespect is kept in check.

about

“The Independent Hip Hop Artist” is a musical representation of Kraze One’s manifestation in Hip Hop culture. The majority of the project was overseen, written, produced, performed, and engineered by DJ Kraze One who upon its completion felt that he has reached a personal pinnacle in both life and music. Prior to recording this project Kraze One had achieved several personal goals within Hip Hop culture which can be broken down in to three different areas.

In the first field of Hip Hop production Kraze One’s compositions as both a solo artist and with vocalist Aniis Le Neve were released with critical acclaim via Apeman Records (www.discogs.com/label/4636-Apeman-Records). This opened further production opportunities for Kraze One who was commissioned to create several remixes for the DMC label’s Phat Beats series during 2001 (djkrazeone.bandcamp.com/album/dmc-remix-collection-free-download-2001). Kraze One was professionally active as a producer between 1996 and 2003 which reflects the time period when all the beats that make up this project were created.

In 2002 as Hip Hop production techniques began to move away from samples Kraze One’s creative focus shifted to the field of writing and recording rap vocals. Kraze One’s foundations as a rapper date back to the early 1990s and for three decades Kraze One maintained a constant presence as a rap vocalist forming part of several local Hip Hop crews the most notably being True Element (soundcloud.com/trueelement/tracks) which eventually evolved into a full live outfit.

Although most of Kraze One’s recordings and releases as a rap vocalist were confined to local independent projects, between 2012 and 2014 Kraze One wrote and performed several rap verses on compositions coordinated and released by collective artists 32 Troop (www.discogs.com/artist/94893-32-Troop) and Planet Of The Fakes (www.discogs.com/artist/3485691-Planet-Of-The-Fakes). After debuting as a rap vocalist outside of the local music scene Kraze One began to collate his first solo Hip Hop project since the mid-1990s.

Most of the vocal recordings that make up “The Independent Hip Hop Artist” were written and recorded during the 2010s. The accapellas created during the initial recording sessions were saved and used to collate the project during 2013. The final field in which Kraze One was able to utilise as a creative outlet during the collation of “The Independent Hip Hop Artist” was the use of scratches and cuts which can be heard throughout the project.

Since becoming a Hip Hop practitioner Kraze One had ambitions to explore the artform of scratching and mixing records. Like his achievements as a rap vocalist Kraze One had also maintained a constant presence as a Hip Hop DJ on both the local and national music circuit. During the late noughties Kraze One began providing scratches and cuts for several local rappers during both live shows and recording sessions. Kraze One was able to draw upon this experience when constructing the compositions for “The Independent Hip Hop Artist”.

Creatively utilising the above three fields as a Hip Hop practitioner “The Independent Hip Hop Artist” recording project came into existence. Its creation continues to provide Kraze One with an overwhelming sense of completion and achievement. The project was also recorded, mixed, and mastered independently allowing Kraze One full creative control on not just the vocals, scratches, and production, but also the mixing, mastering, and overall sound of the project.

“The Independent Hip Hop Artist” also features vocal performances and contributions by rappers, Fathomless One, Killa Joul, Paranoia MC, and singer Sautee all of whom wrote and performed their sections of the project. The beats to the recording entitled “Disrespect is kept in check” were produced and arranged by DJ Maniphest and feature backup vocals by J*. This recording was created during 2003 and remained in the DJ Kraze One archives for several years before being included as part of this project.
