[[Kraze One]] I break out like a mad man, from the front and to the back Like a hand grenade blowing up all over this track Like Martini, any time any place anywhere I ignite like dynamite and leave you rocking like a chair As I come down, I take a look around and frown Sound from the underground continuing to pound On your ear drum, the second son my name Kraze One Real music time's begun like a suicide runner with a gun Loaded up with lyrics of precision I use my intuition like the Demon Boyz I get recognition Respect the architect support the cause From the ceiling to the floors bringing down the walls Of a prison, follow me now keep picking up the clues Like Trevor McDonald bringing you the news Or the coming, True Element keeper of prophecy We drop in to your mind like a tablet of ecstasy I'm ready to go all out and bring it live Got motivation to drive, I get down like a swan dive Abbreviate, fine cuts like pieces of steak As I rock a microphone I leave you shaking like an earthquake. [[Killa Joul]] Many thanks Kraze One, Move out the way here I come Like a nuclear bomb, be dropping hits by the ton King of the ring, here to sting cos you aint doing a thing Expose the men in the top ten who aint bringing a thing Note for not you're a joke, go do an advert for coke Get off my radio son and stop annoying my folks Number 1 aint worth nothing if you're the company muppet Release a dodgy house mix and pull your string like a puppet Stop it, let me rock it and start talking bout me I flip through 60 degrees, shelling rhymes like their peas Destruct and destroy using capital Ds do you see Maybe not cos your staring me down Stick around mop up the slop I'll pound you in to the ground Put my mic down and I'll give you a good night No false pretence, no defence and yes I'm taking the title Superb and supreme from the lyrical books I'm throwing out facts like Michael Tyson throws hooks Unhem rewind let me go again For marks out of 5 my score has got to be 10 Don't pretend let me descend and get it on again.

[[Kraze One]] Mind power, deep in concentration Searching more and more try to assess the situation Fusion total chaos loosing sleep Trying to get out but man I'm in to deep Like a tape deck recording information My thoughts are to the nation I'm searching in frustration For an answer, a meaning or a pledge Fading from reality pushed over the edge In to oblivion, sucked in like a tractor beam Take a look around what's going down is this a bad dream Prime time for crime time the approach Plenty of players yet who is the coach On this mission, the path to survival Its like a jungle sometimes head the arrival Babies having babies the world is corrupt Nuclear explosion do we blow up Over tension cos vies can't be compromised Killers and rapists running round with wild eyes Marriages divorce and babies abandoned Down on his luck again the drunken madman Dodgy characters and shady dealing Increase in taxes, robbing, stealing Neglection, carelessness and HIV I cannot escape the grim reality. [[Hysko]] Take a look around See what's going down Trying to break free From reality. [[Kraze One]] About progression, the second lesson, court in session Here I stand mic in had under suspicion My position, standing accused within a system Of abstract views and a narrow minded vision No question, no education lacking wisdom Life time conviction is said to be dead certain As I proceed innocent is how I plead Trapped in to a corner facing jealousy and greed Trying to breakout, confronting negative vibes Awaiting in disguise I can't hide from the lies And deceit, incomplete facing defeat It's hard enough sometimes trying to make ends meet In the life game, to put the picture in the frame All eager to complain and then to shift the blame On to another, running round undercover Attacking and backstabbing trying to get one over Just to get by, having to cheat and lie One final question just who's the bad guy? A robber is stealing a persons possession The government stealing in way of taxation Looking for an answer so heed the word We're not on a mission to change the world Taking our music to the next degree or just wising up to the grim reality. [[Hysko]] Take a look around See what's going down Trying to break free From reality. Take a look around See what's going down Trying to break free From reality. Da do da da na da do da da na Trying to break free From reality.

about

This project was compiled in association with www.breaktothebeat.com for the purpose of documenting Hip Hop culture that evolved in and around Milton Keynes, England, during the 1990s.

True Element were a Hip Hop collective founded by rapper/producer Kraze One during the mid-1990s. Kraze One produced and funded several independent releases for the project during its inception and nurtured its evolution towards becoming one of Milton Keynes’s pioneering Hip Hop crews.

True Element eventually evolved into a full live band that incorporated several of the city’s musicians and vocalists. For a detailed account of True Elements musical legacy please visit: www.breaktothebeat.com/mk-hip-hop-culture-part-three-1996-2000/true-element-part-1-the-foundation/

The "True elementalz ep" was originally put together by Kraze One in 1997 and was planned as a follow up cassette ep to True Element's debut single "Take a look around\Detonate the funk" which was also released in 1997 and is now available as a digital release to play and download free from Bandcamp.

The "True elementalz ep" was eventually released in late 1998 as a six track CD EP containing several additional demo recordings produced by Kraze One during 1998. At the time of its release the project had lost its momentum as general interest from participants had waned. For the digital release of the "True elementals ep" Kraze One wanted to portray his original 1997 vision for the project as a follow up to the "Take a look around\Detonate the funk" single.

The digital release of the "True elementalz ep" contains a live version of "Take a look around" that replaces the planned original recording without altering the cassette artwork which was created by Matt Meech Design in 1997. The live version of "Take a look around" was recorded in 1998 which would have been after the planned release date making it unavailable as an option for the project had it been released in 1997. As the original version of "Take a look around" is already available on the previous digital release Kraze One decided to include the live version that features vocals by Mr Lusta and Hysko as an alternative.

Just before the planned release of the "True elementalz ep" in 1997 the recording studio Kraze One was using to construct the beats (Studio 7) decided to close down and sell off its equipment. At this point Kraze One made the decision to invest the money generated from True Element's debut release in to purchasing the studios Roland S750 sampler and setting up independently as One On One Productions.

The instrumental recordings for "True elementalz", "The grim reality", and "Breakloose" were all constructed at Studio 7 during the summer of 1997 before being taken to and Audiolab Studio, Buckingham to record vocals and scratches. The composition entitled "Take a look around" from the previous release was also planned to feature as part of the project hoping it would encourage people to revisit True Element's debut single and check out the additional recording "Detonate the funk". Kraze One also wanted to showcase the talents of rapper Mr Lusta who had contributed to the debut release.

The title track "True Elementalz" features rap vocals by MC Killa Joul and scratches by DJ Maniphest.

Kraze One's original vision for composition entitled "The grim reality" was to create a "Take a look around" part 2 with Mr Lusta also contributing as a vocalist. There are several refences in the lyrics including the chorus to that directly relate to the "Take a look around" composition from the previous release. The original idea however did not materialise and Kraze One wrote a second rap verse and recorded the composition with singer Hysko.

"Take a look around (Live & slightly improvised)" was performed by Kraze One, Mr Lusta and Hysko and was recorded live in June 1998 on CRMK (Cable Radio Milton Keynes).

The final composition included on the ep is Break loose (The snowman's theme) which was created by Kraze One using the Roland S750 sampler. Kraze One had become influenced by the Trip Hop music scene that emerged during the mid 1990s and begun to experiment using breaks and loops while constructing his debut "Straight from the sector" project. Break loose, however was Kraze One's first completed composition of this kind to be officially released.
